What if your life had a project manager?

It might sound a little strange, but think about it.  We use planning tools, risk analysis and other well-recognised techniques to run complex projects in our work, so why not use the same tools to help build a better life?

In this part of the blog, I’ll explore how project management methods, when simplified, can bring more clarity, structure, and follow-through to your personal goals. Whether you’re planning a career change, a new fitness regime, or just trying to reclaim your time, a project mindset can help.

And no, you don’t need to start building Gantt charts to do this.

But imagine taking a goal like “get in shape” or “start a podcast” and treating it like a mini-project:

  • Define the goal
  • Break it into milestones
  • Spot the risks and blockers
  • Track progress and reflect

Suddenly, it feels manageable.  Achievable.  Even fun.

That’s what PM for Life is about.

In the posts that follow in this series, I’ll share practical tools, templates, and mindset shifts to help you bring a little more structure to your life.  Not to create more work, but to make the things that matter actually happen.

This isn’t about productivity hacks or to-do list overload. It’s about using proven principles to build momentum in a way that feels grounded, flexible, and meaningful.

So whether you’re navigating a career shift, launching a creative project, or just trying to make better use of your time, you’ll find ideas here to help you manage it like a pro.
